The Future of GTA

50% of employees in the oil and gas industry are currently 55 or older, and most are retiring between 2025 to 2027. While large waves of turnover are not new to the industry, these workers take a wealth of knowledge and experience when they retire, thus resulting in a large deficit in skills. As a new generation enters the workforce amidst this turnover, training has shifted to become a large focus to minimize these gaps.

For many companies, having the resources or time to devote to developing training programs is hard to come by. The Gas Training Association (GTA) is committed to offering affordable and accessible pricing options and content delivery for companies in the industry. GTA is preparing for change in the workforce by implementing a new pricing structure and improved content delivery.

New Pricing Structure

As market demands evolve, GTA has revamped its pricing to make it more accessible for all companies in the natural gas industry. To suit the differing needs of the companies, GTA offers a range of pricing. With plans for large and small companies, individuals, and U.S. military veterans, the new pricing structure includes the following:

  • Membership
  • Large organization web-based plans (100+ users)
  • Small organization web-based plans (1-100 users)
  • Individual web-based plans
  • Free web-based courses for U.S. Military Veterans

Improved Content Delivery

Since GTA’s founding, over a dozen companies have contributed to GTA’s content development. GTA plans to continue to increase offerings in liquid, gas, and universal curriculums to fill skills gaps that cater to the needs of the industry. As GTA expands its curriculum offerings, a primary focus is deploying content within municipal and smaller gas companies that often do not have established training programs or personnel. The anticipated increased demand for accessible and flexible training has also led GTA to seek ways to offer virtual content that can be implemented seamlessly.

As the industry braces for a significant shift in the workforce, effective training to assist with knowledge transfers becomes more prominent. Recognizing this challenge, GTA is stepping up to meet industry needs with more accessible and affordable training solutions that can suit any company.
