This course covers cone-type flow meters, their operating theory, and considerations for installation and
operation.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will have received instruction designed to assist him/her in
the following:
- Describe cone meters’ applications, components, and principals of operation.
- Describe the system installation practices for flow run requirements, meter orientation, pressure
tap location and impulse tubing, system components, and piping considerations. - Describe installation options for liquid service, including horizontal and vertical meter
installation and transmitter calibration considerations. - Describe meter installation options for gas service including horizontal meter installation with
drip pot, vertical meter installation, and transmitter calibration consideration. - Describe possible resultant installation errors and effects.
